Using the site
The site is free, needs no account, and you may use it for personal or commercial work. Please do not use it to break the law, to impersonate someone, or in a way that disrupts it for others, such as automated requests at a volume that loads the servers.
What you make is yours
Text you convert and images you export belong to you. The characters in the Unicode styles are part of an international standard that anyone may use, so there is nothing to license when you paste them.
The typefaces used for previews and image export are published under the SIL Open Font License, which places no restriction on the images you make with them, including for commercial use. The fonts themselves remain the work of their designers.
Font names and trademarks
Names such as Cloister Black, Old English Text MT and Old London belong to their owners. Pages about those faces describe them and show open-licence stand-ins, labelled as such. The site is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of those owners, and does not distribute their fonts.
No guarantees
How pasted text looks depends on the app, the device and the fonts it carries, and apps change without notice. The compatibility results and other facts on the site are checked with care but are provided as they are, without any warranty that they are complete, current or suited to your purpose.
Tattoos and anything permanent
Before lettering is inked, engraved or printed, check the spelling, the numerals and the letter shapes yourself, at the real size, and with the artist or maker doing the work. Blackletter letters can be mistaken for one another at small sizes. The site helps you preview and compare; the final decision, and responsibility for it, is yours.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Old English Generator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from using the site, from relying on its content, or from being unable to use it.

Links to foundries, font libraries and other services are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.
Changes to these terms
